Iv heard Pharrell wants to produce the new album... not quite sure if i like the sound of that. He's good and everything but could he really do a Strokes album? Id like them to get Gordon back!
If they get Timbaland, I will have a snake for my next meal ! ^^ Pharell had already produced many rock bands, it could be interesting to see what Julian could write with Julian, and Nick and Albie are rock's legend alive guitarist, so it will offers them a lot of possibilies to made new great songs.
I think, that the guys can't really do anything, what i shouldn't like..... because they are way too genius (and cool) to do disappointing things. :D even if they work with Timbaland......
but I still won't be happy, if they got Pharell..
f. e. : the last Hives album was ok, and energic, blabla... but not that the Hives, i like...
but cmon... its just an offer.. If I would be Pharell, I would say the same.. 'I want to produce The Strokes'

(sorry for my uggly english...)
yea i agree Pharrell's music is diff. from the strokes, and who knows if it's going to work or not.
I DONT LIKE PHARELL FOR THE STROKES HIS MUSIC IS SO DIFFERENT.........
I DONT LIKE THE PHARELL´S SOUND :?
With all this 4th album talk I am thinking they are going to make a 4th album and split afterward, I did alot of reading during the ROF and FIOE eras of the band and they are growing farther apart with each passing day.
as long as they dont get timbaland il be happy!
It wouldn't be soo bad because at least the 4th album will be made and it has to have that crisp, new the strokes smell to it....or so i hope
You may have read this but I just found it. It talks about Gordon Raphael producing the Strokes. It's pretty interesting. It shows how when the Strokes did Is This IT and took a chance doing something different by working with Raphael and it really paid off for the Strokes.
But actually it started with a really good idea -- to make an album that was both classic rock and modern. So somehow they need to come up with that same kind of concept for the next album. Maybe that's hiphop? But that seems like what everyone else is doing. Maybe Pharell has some big idea for the Strokes though?
The way I look at it is, if you do things the way everyone else does them, you will probably get the same results.
I think the Strokes need to think outside of mainstream music. There are so many different weird things you can do. They should explore those. Bjork is a great example of this. Though she goes a little too far sometimes.
