Screw y'all. First Impressions of Earth is a great album, magical even! If you disagree with me then you are incorrect. Period.

Albert is a curse to the Strokes. Notice he is the only member who originally isn't from New York.
fab was born in brazil and moved to new york when he was 4

Ok.

Number 1-Albert is the shit. period.
number 2-FIOE is just lacking a little of what the first two had.
number 3- Can You rock a leather jacket as well as albert? trick question, no one can.

thank you for your time.

Seriouslly dude? Thats pretty rediculous...

The Strokes wouldn't be where they are today if Albert wasn't a part of the band. They all work together, and its the chemistry of the band that produces such great music.... you can't credit one persons talent solely... that's just not right.

Furthermore someone mentioned that Albert's guitar riffs are really 'simple', as if anyone can do it... Maybe so, but so were the Beatles and they more musical genieus'. Just because something can be copied simple on an instrument doesn't mean it doesn't require talent to wright or play when making the song with other band members.

I agree with ALbert in the article mentioned above. FIOE wasn't their best work, and I'm sure Albert isn't the only member of the Strokes that would say it (I bet the other guys have just kept it to themeselves). They were tired by the time of FIOE, kinda burnt out for example. I dont blame them either they were woirking hard and wern't giving themeselves much of a break. This is why I am so certainly possitive that their 4th album is going to be something better than we have ever heard from the strokes... They have all the rest they could need, and they working together better than ever (as Jules said in the recent Rolling Stones article).

Albert is a genius musical writer because it's in his blood. e proved this with his previous solo ablums. He is great and I hope the Strokes utilize him better in their upcoming album.

Peace & Love
p.s. this album was slightly dissapointing. first two albums much better. this ones a bit overproduced, the lyrics are more trivial, and their's a lack of rawness
why do people always mention the lyrics? the lyrics are only a single part of one instrument out of five. (it doesn't matter what words jule's singing anyway, because he sings it very well.)

I think it is alright, at least he is not a hypocryite about it, he is saying his honest opinion and that is something you rarely read in interviews these days.

Real mature. Way to encourage diversity and sharing of opinions. Not.

ROFL.

i find myself listening to this album ever now and again and realize how amazing it really is. i think that First Impressions of Earth is years ahead of its time. in the NME awards in 2006 they won best international band award for that album and beat out great band like the Killers, Foo Fighters, and Green Day. its an awesome album

fight, fight, fight!
lyrics in FIOE are wonderful , better than before.
it's not overproduced, but is this it an room on fire were "underproduced", as julian said himself - it sounded like a crappy demo. the music was beautiful, but anything else....
it doesn't mean that if something is commercial it's also bum.
julian is cindign bout' the strokes, but i really like back to the 101, and albert is also great musician.
i know that grammar in this post was desperate, but i'm just way to sleepy right now...
we all disagree, i think we should disagree, yeah... ;)
i'm goin' to bed....
love, ppl, love!! :ugeek:

To thebossamericana,

You said you dislike First Impressions because it's over produced. Well, I hate to say that it was Albert who suggested to bring in David Kahn. If Albert would've kept his mouth shut, then maybe we could have had another album by The Strokes produced by Gordan Raphael. Besides, Albert's solo stuff is no where near the greatness of First Impressions, and his guitar parts on The Strokes albums are fairly easy, so no, he is not the most talented member in the Strokes. That honor goes to Julian.

p.s. this album was slightly dissapointing. first two albums much better. this ones a bit overproduced, the lyrics are more trivial, and their's a lack of rawness

Fuck you guy who said albert was a curse. albert may just be the band's most talented member. his solo stuff is amazing and his contributions to the strokes are solid. nick may play the leads, but albert's guitar is the foundation of the band

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! a curse? albie is an integral part of the band! it wouldn't be the strokes in albie wasn't there! and if anyone has a right to dislike the music, it's one of the people who actually CREATED the music!
