The motive it is able to be affected with a high thread count is the fact that the real farming threads or filaments of yarn that the plant produces are longer than the standard cotton plant. For example a two fifty thread count of four works will be quoted as having a thread tally. quotesable
The connection I want with Julian isn't exactly brotherly, but anyway...

I love this:

Debbie (Harry): Is there anything that you'd like to say to people?

Julian: I don't know. It's weird: I remember when I used to be in the shower and I would interview myself, you know. I think everyone does that.

Debbie: OK...

Julian: And I would give great intellectual answers that solved all these problems, like, as soon as anyone asks me a question they'll see what's comin' their way! I've got all the answers. (laughs) And ever since then, it's all been downhill.

Ha. I interview myself all the time. As if anyone gives a flying fuck what I have to say. Bet he doesn't like interviews anymore.
wow. i interview my all the time too.
"WHICH ONE OF YOU FUCKERS STOLE MY ENGAGEMENT FEATHER NECKLACE?"
when and where he said that???

"I'd like to just get to a point where maybe we can say something that will be matterful. That's definitely not a word, by the way."

"I very often have night terrors," Casablancas says. "I've died in my sleep 23 different ways."

"WHICH ONE OF YOU FUCKERS STOLE MY ENGAGEMENT FEATHER NECKLACE?"

"Although we really like girls, it's almost as if we like each other better. We'll definitely go get laid, but we won't hang out with the qirl and be like, 'Oh I love you', we'll go straight back to the band."

hahaha! I love it!!

oh, and all of Jules' quotes from In Transit are gold. "what about my fucking kids Ryan? look at little Fabrizio, he hasn't eaten in three hours!" *hits Fab* "Shut up!"

" what about my little Fabrizio, he hasnt eaten in three hours"

'' I never had the rock-star dream. I thought It would be cool to be a modern-day composer '' JC

I think you are right.. but from the stuff I have seen Julian say I don't think he wants to really be successful. I think he wants the strokes and himself to be kind of popular.. but not too much. and I think he wants to be popular but more respected than popular. I don' think Julian ever wanted or expected to be as successful as they were. And then when it happened he intentionally or unintentionally pulled back. I do think Albert wants it all though.. I think that's why we have this divide between him and the band. Albert wants to be the Beatles.. Julian wants to be the Ramones but a little more pupular..

When talking about music:
"It's just that feeling that you have that gives you the joy and understanding that you don't have in reality. And it's not like a shortcut to reality, it's more like an expansion on the understanding of what's going on. So I think it's interesting on many different levels. And for me, as soon as I started to understand how music worked I couldn't get enough, and I was stuck. That's what I had to do or just, you know, kill myself because I didn't want to be a dentist or anything else."

"There's more to life than fucking trying to be popular, and that's what we're trying to say. That's what our fucking music says, so wait until it fucking comes out."

"I like music. Music is like, it's something that when you hear the best kind of music, it hits you in a way where you're just emotionally moved. That's where it's at. That helps you out in life, that's more than a fucking -- that's almost like a friend sometimes, like a friend to turn to..."

^ i know what ya mean, i feel similiarly about all of the strokes. for one reason because when you hear music or experience any type of art that really touches you , you somehow feel close to the artist ebhind it. makes sense because the art is a bit of the creator's perosnality put into a creation. i really love the way that julian views things , he's just so sincere. that was an excellent interview by the way, it was from the "New York" magazine cover story from back in january 06. i really hope that whatever the strokes do on the fourth album is on their terms and no one elses. i feel that a couple of the songs on first impressions felt forced. i like the album as a whole, "on the ohter side" is one of my favorite songs and is achingly beautiful. but tracks like "juicebox" and "vision of division", while they had good moments they felt to one sided. i think julian was put in a position where it was like i need to make soemthing that i'll like but the label will also like as a single. like he had one arm behind his back. but like i said first impressions was very good as a whole and was full of executed great ambitions. i just hope that julian will never even slightly give into anyone's demands, and that he will live up to only his own perosonal artistic ones.

"Doing heroin is like walking around with a terrorist as your friend,"

"Never play Golden Tee when you're drunk," he advises.

"I see myself out of my own eyes, which means I have no idea what's going on the other way around. I just think I try to be a good person, and I fail."

- OK, so what's your stock answer to the Nigel Godrich question?
Casablancas: Fuck you. I'm not answering that question.
- What the hell?
Casablancas: Next question.
- Honestly, this has to be the worst...
Casablancas: The worst interview ever???

It's funny you ask, because last night I had this dream that I was playing a show at my old high school, and then, at the end of my dream, I spit.(laughs) I just remember that spitting feeling, an intense spit, and I woke up and I had actually spit on my covers.- interview with Debbie Harry

^^ When or in what context did he say "sexygreat"? Haha

"No matter how hard you work or what you accomplish, nothing gives you the right to be an asshole. (Unless you're Albert)"

and that's what sort of happened.

you can set yourself up for failure that way.

"If you want to get wasted, that's cool," he says. "We all get wasted. We'll probably get wasted tonight. But if that becomes your motive for being a musician that's fucked up. We want to do this job as well as possible."

"We're all as important as each other," he says. "How many groups are there where you know the drummer's name? Where you even care who in the group? We're on this equally. That's why people liked the Beatles and That's why people like us."

"Hey," he says, hoisting a drenched armpit around the interviewers and Alberts neck, "have you got BO? Come here, you bastard! Let me kiss you!"

'Throughout your life you try and maintain a balance so that when things are going too well you're prepared for the bad stuff waiting to happen. Things are going pretty well for us, so I'm pretty scared."

OMG i think the same way, i always did :D

the best thread EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE PRINGLESSSS!

haha i'll never forget that

"Hey folks, take care of people that, you know, the little ones, they fall"

"You have a beautiful fucking place here, very fucking nice. You guys look nice too, man, it's good to see you"

"So, anyway, you have some tasty meat here, ha, I was just kidding, haha. Yeah, the cow I tasted today, it tasted like it had a very happy life, so, you have a good thing going here"

"We'll come back soon, when our record is out" (pff, yeah, I'm still waiting, Julian!)

Julian during The Strokes' concert in Argentina (2005)
"Recording sucks your soul. I swear to God I've never wanted a vacation as much as I do now. I mean, it's fun... but the pressure is insurmountable." :!:
The average working person makes a statement almost to that effect on a daily basis. Just because Juju was quoted saying that, doesn't make it bandwidth worthy.

"RYAN!!! , Come on man, bring me my FUCIKING HEINEKEN ,is the 4 song and IM STILL SOBER"
gig at sandiego

WHOA! I totally interview myself too! I had no idea lots of people did that!

"i know this fo' sho', i'm gonna shit on your floor"

^ I was so excited when I first read that interview a while back, and when I read that part immediately I was like, "No way! I do that all the time too!" hahaha. I relate so much with things Julian's said; it's almost eerie.

The connection I want with Julian isn't exactly brotherly, but anyway...

Ha. I interview myself all the time. As if anyone gives a flying fuck what I have to say. Bet he doesn't like interviews anymore.

"I just want to do things differently, and to a lot of people that’s annoying. I like weird stuff."

It's funny because I have always felt this crazy connection to Julian. Like we were long lost brothers or like he was my twin in some way... and I don't think you could sum me up more perfectly than that quote right there.

"It's about findindg something out of a whole lot of nothing" -a comment he said in an interview when he was asked to describe "on the other side"

"i believe in the i-don't-know-what-the-hell-is-going-on... ism"

"The best artists,” Casablancas says, “are the ones that work the hardest, and if you work hard enough, you’ll eventually experience the happy accidents that are art. I learned that from my stepfather"

"I just want to do things differently, and to a lot of people that’s annoying. I like weird stuff. I always hoped if we had a big success it would be on our own terms"

"When you try to make everyone happy . . . in the end you’ve got to make yourself happy.”

"I don't care what people think or what they expected. It's what (critics) said, not us.”

;)
