This song sounds nothing like Run Run Run by The Velvet Underground.
I’m so happy to read this. This is the kind of manual that needs to be given and not the accidental misinformation that’s at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this best doc.
The website is looking bit flashy and it catches the visitors eyes. Design is pretty simple and a good user friendly interface.
Who the hell started that rumor that it was a VU cover?
Dunno who, but why... because we all know the guys are VU fans, and they have a song titled that, and since Nick sings there words in Sagganuts, people thought it was a VU cover.
haha, and the baggy-ness of his jeans.
wow look how high is nicks guitar!!
Yeah, I was disappointed it didn't make it to the album. It definitely could have. I somewhat wish they'd re-record it in a studio, but then it would loose it's wonderful grittiness that makes it so awesome.
ok, i just realized that if it was released as a single, then it probably would have been played like a million zillion times, and they could foresee that tragedy occuring, so they decided never to let that happen. And I'm sure that is not the official reason, but that's my reason and that is what helps me sleep at night.
Sagganuts was sooo great and I am sooo stunned that it was never released on an album. I mean that performance at the very beginning of their career really gave insight to how talented they were back then (and many will never know). Plus it was very care-free and fun!!!! It's hard to believe that their performace on the youtube vid is like 7 or 8 years old. And I'll say it again, the poor quality made it sound even BETTER!!! Again, I am so stunned it was never on an album.
Ok... I know they had a great reason and it was all part of their plan to save the universe.
...but I still don't understand!!
well, when you see the video, you see that albert tries to get over to nick mic. at the beginning of that show, julian's mic seems to get busted, so he takes albert's. so that means albert didn't have a mic for the occassion.
when they play sagganuts, all of the sudden albert crosses the stage over to where nick is at, but nick is too much of a mic-hog .. so albert kinda gives up.
oh. and the rumour most likely started by someone mistagging the song as "run, run, run," which is also the name of a velvet underground song. and since everyone knows julian's love of the vu, plus all the comparisons the strokes got to them, no one seemed to really mind or care.
plus, not many kids (at least the more mainstream ones) listen to VU, so they havn't heard the "run run run." so, for all they know, its a cover.
albert too? I thought it was only nick :o
Nick and Albert Chanting Run, run, run together?
I gotta see this video!
Who the hell started that rumor that it was a VU cover?
you are talking about "sagganuts"
youtube video of this song is very funny ...
nick and julian
Yeah I thought it was Sagganuts...but the supposed cover I have is a really shitty live song...and on when I downloaded it on limewire, I was so excited to hear a Velvets cover but then I was slightly dissapointed.
that's right. the song's actual name is sagganuts. its an early song they use to perform live, which has the "run, run, run" motif chanted by nick and albert, which is were the misconception comes from.
you can actually go to youtube and see them performing it, as well as earlier versions of (now) known songs, and a few others they never released.
because it's not.
