nothing worse than those french bastards.

well i'll say from my years in college i will say that i love irish guys. there aren't too many here in elizabeth but when i was in college there were a ton of them, especially in queens and parts of norht brooklyn. i love your feistiness and sweetness at the same time. italians and eastern europeans completely lack any sort of manners and generally respect for their follow countryman than those of you from the island of brittannia.

Horny and fucked up is an ideal state of being.

hey i can still be horny and fucked up like i've always been.

you sure that's not some side effect of the pregnancy?

you make my nipples hard mr. you

Well it's all a matter of semantics really. Indie has come to mean more than just "being on an indie label". I know Built to Spill are on a major label. Lots of big bands are on indie labels though. It's not like you need a major label to get lots of exposure. Arctic Monkeys are on Domino. So are Animal Collective. Interpol are on Matador. They're all relatively big. Which is basically what you're saying anyway.

The thing about emo is...like, it can be defined in some specific way, fine. But when I think of emo I just think of Fall Out Boy, PATD!!!!, American Rejects or whatever they're called....basically bands that appeal to young teens with their "school sucks, woe-is-me, I hate my parents" agenda. That's what emo is to me. So when you call AC or Built to Spill emo it just gets a bit confusing. But whatever, it's all completely subjective.

Oh and by the way the majority of bands I listen to tend to be on indie labels, just for your information. With there only being 4 majors left, and with them being shite, most bands are on indie labels these days.

you should do your research before you make wiseass remarks. emo can also refer to "alternative pop/rock" "alternative music" and not neccessarily indie. because indie rock refers to music that is on a label that is independent, let me repeat INDEPENDENT from a major label. most so called indie bands (the ones you mention) are not indie bands. indie is like the hong kong. never heard of them right? of course not. they don't have major label exposure so they don't get a lot of press. but of course all that's bullshit now because of myspace lastfm and itunes. i mean shit who gives a flying fuck about what genre a band belongs to? who gives a flying FUCK WHAT about a fucking band anyway?

but anyway

just because some website says it doesn't make it so. But whatever, if you want it to be emo it's emo.

They're a really great band. I'm surprised at how relatively popular they've become after Strawberry Jam which I think is one of their weakest albums, but it's probably their most accessible. The two leaked tracks from the new album are really great, they're both Panda Bear tracks and have that Person Pitch feel.
they take a bit of getting used to.
You're right.
I sort of like them now.
Sort of...

I have some stuff off Sung Tongs, actually. I guess I should explore that album a bit more! THANK YOU for the suggestions :)

The album Feels (which Grass is on) is a pretty good place to start. But I know you really like folk so you'd probably be better off listening to Sung Tongs. It's fully acoustic freak folk and it's pretty stunning. Also check out the Prospect Hummer EP that they did with Vashti Bunyan. But really, all their albums are worth listening to (except maybe Danse Manatee). If you were looking for some good noise music then I'd go for Here Comes The Indian or Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished.

I like a handful of songs I have heard, like Grass, for instance.
Recommend me something from them that I would like! I feel like I need to give them a proper chance.

Emo?
I'm not a fan but they are so not emo.

AC being emo is the most ridiculous thing...
