Phrazes for the Young is fucking amazing.
I love everysong so fucking much.
haha its better than First Impressions I'd have to say.
Left and right in the dark has to be the favourite, its got a cool feel to it. and the solo in glass is awesome!! I LOVE IT
funny how i still think the intro to "Ludlow St" would go great with "Glass". It would have been an epic combination, just like it was in the promo video.
Tourist, Out of the Blue, Glass, and 4 chords are my faves..but I Love the whole album!
'Tourist' is my favorite as of right now, but I loooove the other songs as well.
Well, no. I'm actually not too keen with 'Glass' anymore, suddenly, but maybe it'll grow on me? I think the promo sort of ruined 'Glass' for me.
I agree completely. I was a little disappointed actually to find out that they weren't in the same song, but that's not to say that Ludlow Street or Glass aren't fantastic songs. This album pretty much blew me away and I don't say that as a blind Strokes groupie! 8-)
Which song is the best? I'm having a tough time deciding. Tourist, Left & Right in the Dark, Glass, Ludlow Street, and 4 Chords are probably what I'd narrow it down to, but maybe that's because I've grown accustomed to 11th Dimension over the last month which is great as well. I'd probably say my favorite is Ludlow Street since I'm a fan of country and bluegrass and this is so out of Julian's element, yet he somehow gets it to work. Brilliant album.
I was wondering what Pitchfork is going to give this album. They've been covering the album pretty extensively, but I'll probably say it'll be an 8.Something. They'll nitpick about something since it's not Radiohead  They have been pretty well-receiving of the Strokes in the past though.
He just went mad.
Cause even the mainstream wouldn't like this! hahahaha
I'm so giddy with love for what I'm hearing right now. It's fuckin epic. Every song sounds so... I dunno, transcendental. Gah I wish I could remember that Perks of Being a Wallflower quote. They mention something like, a song comes on and they're driving through a tunnel at night with the windows down, and in that moment they feel infinite. Every song from this album feels that way to me.
funny how i still think the intro to "Ludlow St" would go great with "Glass". It would have been an epic combination, just like it was in the promo video.
Yeah I've changed my mind, Jules didn't "Sell out".
He just went mad.
Cause even the mainstream wouldn't like this! hahahaha
Wow I'm sensing some Santigold influence even 8l
