Symmetry and the Sick Six

Posted by Max Fischer on

Did anyone else notice the symmetry in the Conan video?

2 guitarists
2 huge keyboard stands
2 drum kits

comprise the sick six.. pretty obvious right

but I am wondering if there is something else going on here.. notice in 11th Dimension Julian has 2 singing styles - -because of the filter in some parts.. so it's as if there are 2 Julian's too... I think this is to show the 2 sides of him.. and how he is having a conversation with himself in his songs..

It would be cool if there were 2 different Julian's in the 11th Dimension music video too..

I wonder if there mght be some symbolisim there in him dying one side of his hair too?

People talk about their interpretation of art all the time..don't you watch movies and try to understand what the director or writer are saying and talk to your friends about it? Why wouldn't you do the same with music? I don't think you have thought your point through..

By the way, Cory, what you're saying is art should be totally subjective. I don't think this is wise.

This indicates that art has no power beyond entertainment and therefore needs no criticism. It does. One day, you'll discover that everything you see and hear shapes your reality, and therefore dictates it. Your reality is dictated by art and music, and food and fabric, and scents and sounds. This gives it an equally scientific hold on our existence, albeit one that we have not yet learned how to test and measure. One day, though.
That sounds like a personal problem Cory.. if you see something you should share it with people.. there may be a lot of things people are missing understanding Julian's message and work.. most people don't put any thought into what they do and most people are probably ignoring what Julian is doing. like how they said dying his hair was hipster and gay... rather than considering there might be some reason why..
No MAx... This is a fundamental difference between art and science. Sharing you're perception is good on science ... But it's important to have your own perception with art. This is very fundamental, it's why there's BA's and then BS's in academia.

But agree to disagree because I won't argue with you about this one any longer

The poor and middle class in this world outnumber the rich. Not many people will fully relate or totally understand his music, nor understand the true meaning of The Strokes music, because it contains what is perceived as pretentious overthought babbling and the hyper-derivative creative observations of a NY-bound rich kid, something that most people in this world don't have the time or mental fortitude to indulge in.

This will forever be his Achilles heel. People with this weakness, if they seek historical relevance, are bound by their situation to uplift their peers, especially those that actually DO have something to say and DO relate to the masses on an honest, primal level.

This in mind, he'd make a good producer for gritty, lower-classed rock bands and other acts of a similar situation, and turning them into something special. This solo project is one driven by ego and fear. Just sayin'.

So "Max/PR Guy/Julian", get to work! Go help the world or someone else make something special! You're wasting your life here. And folks we're outta time!

on that day....

What message? "I've got nothing to sayyyyyyyyyy"

I saw it too, max, bur if I hadn't.. And I came on here and read this post.. It would have irritated me. Julian is an artist, so let others precieve their art how their minds want them to perceive the art... Because that's what art is all about ..

At least I'm not using an alias to try to control people to defend your fantasy internet boyfriend.. LOL You are so crazy you rationalize that shit.. I am on here talking about my favorite band and musician.. that;'s what this site is for.. not celebrity crushes and because you want to bear Albert's children...

Most of my posts on this site are from arguing with weirdos like yourself who are only on here because of your Tiger Beat crush...

1200 posts of pure obsessive, fixated, over-analytical insanity.

You just made a Feudian slip.. I suggest you seek psyhcological help for severe groupiism...

Obviously not smart enough to realize that I was being sarcastic, and that you're closer to being a misunderstood pedophile who writes his lyrics on the wall with his own shit, than a genius.

I actually am a genius.. and like Julian I'm not understood here either... but you know being a genius isn't necessarily a good thing. It can actually kind of be a curse.

If you're a genius, then I'm Lil Wayne... and you need to WAH, WAH-WAH, WAH droppit-like-its-hot.

Geniuses are rarely ever understood in their time.. and when they are it is probably by other geniuses

I wonder if anyone actually cares about this stuff besides the person who thought of it themselves?
