Who's disappointed with Julian?

Posted by stuntman_sergio on

Come sound off
I am
I'm getting to the point
where i'm like dude this guy is not what he was?

He once said
"Music is not a popularity contest"

then later in 2009 he said this on nme.com
"He wanted to take indie music and make it mainstream"
he wanted to be the likes of Green Day and Creed.
He also said "that they got to the top of the underground, but not big, and there also a step to take"

that threw me off right there
contradicting himself when he was younger
He goes to baseball and football games now
he never like sports back in the Is this it? days

sound off responses what do you guys think?

keep in mind julian was always fond of baseball... but either way all the shit your posting in this board is very realistic. It's like something we all know but don't want to talk about.

Yeah, I kind of noticed that change too. Comes with getting older? Or being sober? But I mean it's harder when you're being interviewed and put on the spot. Your words are trapped, you can never take them back, and it's an impression that's going to stick. I bet he goes back and forth with it, struggling to comprehend what his goal should be, because either way he's trying too hard: trying too hard to not be mainstream or trying too hard to be mainstream. So either way people will perceive him as fake. It's one of those things I think, were I in his position, I would struggle to find my standpoint on. I may say one thing to the magazines one day, but change my mind the next. I dunno, I hope I'm making sense.

Anyway. You (stuntman sergio) definitely spelled "they're" wrong (given the context) FIRST as ("there") then as "their" and then back once more to "there." How does that work? hahaha I won't even start with "your"

And "11th Dimension" is Julian's version of Ricky Martin's "Livin' La Vida Loca" (twangy guitar and all). So he's definitely attempting a huge commercial single there. We'll see how it works out for him.

I guess there is a lot of people making the same question. There are way too much rumours ( fake or not) about the 4th album release. There are no reliable information. I read something about the indecision between band's members about rearrange some songs, what could be causing this delay. Somehow, finished or unfinished the songs, i'm hoping that they will finally get this album done. Of course if they hadn't dedicate so much time recording solo albums, this new one could already be released.[/[/color]quote]
